What's the heat-resistant temperature of pressure gauge?

In a variety of pressure gauge standards, generally only specify the normal working temperature of the instrument, such as the general pressure gauge is -40 ~ 70 ℃, capsule pressure gauge is -25 ~ 55 ℃, but did not specify the maximum heat-resistant temperature, although some pressure gauge manufacturers produce heat-resistant pressure gauge or high temperature pressure gauge, but very few manufacturers clearly put forward the heat temperature or high temperature range, which also makes the pressure gauge users feel embarrassed.

What is the using temperature of the so-called heat-resistant or high-temperature pressure gauge? Is the temperature operating temperature or the measured medium temperature?

First of all, we should know the welding temperature for all kinds of bourdon tube:

Welding Way

 Welding temperature

Applicable range

  Brazing (soldering)

120℃

Used for copper connectors and copper spring tube welding

Silver solder

600℃

Used for copper connectors and stainless steel spring tube welding

Argon arc welding

1500℃

Used for copper connectors and stainless steel spring tube welding

So generally when know the welding way for bourdon tube, you will know what is the maximum ambient temperature the pressure gauge can withstand, that is: brazing pressure gauge can work within 120 ℃, silver solder pressure gauge can work normally below 600 ℃, argon arc welding pressure gauge can work normally below 1500 ℃.

In addition, There will be certain requirements for material of some components for heat-resistant or high temperature pressure gauge, such as pressure gauge ring can’t use plastic, but should use aluminum or other high temperature resistant materials; dials can’t use plastic plate, but should use the aluminum or iron dial. Because at a high temperature, the plastic ring and dial will be deformed and affect the operation of the pointer.

The normal working environment temperature of pressure gauges.

General pressure gauge

-40~70℃

Precision pressure gauge

5~40℃

Electric contact pressure gauge

-40~70℃

Ammonia pressure gauge

-40~70℃

Capsule pressure gauge

-25~55℃

Diaphragm pressure gauge

-40~60℃

Shock resistance pressure gauge

-40~60℃

Diaphragm pressure gauge

-20~60℃

Why should the pressure gauge be inspected?

As pressure gauge after a period of use, its internal parts is worn and deformed, resulting in a variety of failures or changes in pressure value, thus loss of accuracy, resulting in tolerance phenomenon. In order to ensure the accuracy of the pressure gauge to achieve the correct pressure value, safe and reliable operation, the pressure gauge should be carried out cycle inspection.
